If the screen shows No service, Searching, an empty signal bar or you cannot hear any calls, work through these steps in order. Most cases are fixed by the first three.
1. Give it time and a clear view
The first registration in a new area can take a minute or two. Move outdoors or to a window; basements, metal buildings and vehicles with metallic window film block cellular signal.
2. Restart the radio
Hold Exit/Power to turn the Go or Trek off, wait ten seconds, and turn it back on. On the Commander, turn the knob off and on. A restart forces a fresh network search.
3. Check the plan covers where you are
Your SPSLink plan sets the countries the radio can use. A radio on the USA / Canada / Mexico plan will not register in South America or elsewhere. If you have travelled outside your plan area, email us to change the plan. See Which SPSLink plan do I need?
4. Try Wi-Fi (Go and Trek)
If there is a Wi-Fi network or a Starlink Mini nearby, join it from Menu > Wi-Fi. If calls work over Wi-Fi but not cellular, the problem is local cellular coverage, not the radio.
5. Check the antenna (Commander)
Make sure the 4G antenna is screwed on firmly and has not been damaged. A loose antenna is the most common cause of a Commander with no signal.
6. Check the plan has not expired
Plans run one year from the first power-on. If the radio has been in service for about a year, the plan may need renewing. Email us with the radio and we will check.
Still no service?
Email support@satellitephonestore.com with the radio model, roughly where you are, what the screen shows and whether other radios on the account are working. That lets us check the SIM and network side straight away.
